Senator Barack Obama now has 283 electoral votes, clinching his win for President of the United States.
I heartily congratulate everyone who voted for Mr. Obama! It looks like we will have our first black president!
My congratulations go out to John McCain for running well and working hard to do the best thing for his country. I am glad he ran--he ran a good race.
This is an exiting election any way you look at it, whether you voted for the president-elect or not. So I say--enjoy this historical moment! Let yourself be excited for it, because it is exciting. Rejoice with those who are rejoicing! (That should ring a bell..*hint, hint*) ;-)
So, CONGRATULATIONS, Mr. Obama! And congratulations to everyone rejoicing over his election!
And, once, again, my deep congratulations to Senator McCain. He gave a wonderful speech and maintained his honor. He was a good sport and said some memorable things, as GPB news put it. I must say I'm sad he didn't win, especially because he is fairly old and likely will not have another chance to run for president. I would have liked to see what he'd have done as president. John McCain is certainly a historical, remarkable person. So, once again, my congratulations to him and my thanks to him for continuing to serve us in the Senate.
And my thanks to my God for always remaining supreme and for knowing all. He is in control and loves us deeply--may we never forget that. And may we never forget that what defines us if not our president, nor even quite our country. It is not who we vote for or even what party we are affiliated with. It is our God. It is his Love and his purpose, which never, never changes, no matter how history goes.
