My love, angels do battle for you;
Do you see yourself as worthless?
The legions of God fight for you as for a gem;
The armies of darkness would have you forever dimmed,
Never free to reflect His glory as only you can.
My love, there is a place in the Kingdom of the most High,
A part in His glorious Bride that will be absent lest you are there:
Covered in filth as we so often are,
We see no spotless unblemished bride in us,
But only the faithless wife of Hosea, bought from shame.
Love of God, only the enemy would have you such:
But your soul is a mirror, one you fail to see
Because of the darkness around you:
And so we do battle.
Armies of the Living God,
Armies at the service of Love:
In the name of Christ, marked by His blood, empowered by His Spirit,
Fight at the service of His will!
May the darkness be overcome;
May the captives be brought forth:
May those afraid to stand before Love,
Ashamed in their nakedness, see -
Only naked can they be washed,
Only naked wed to Him,
Then to be clothed by Him.
My love, Love has come down for you.
Love has stripped Himself naked that you might not be ashamed;
Love has covered Himself in your infirmities that you might be healed.
He has come that you might be delivered from the bonds of death:
Come, now, die to death and be united to Him.
