Watch with appreciation...today history is made. This is the day that generations to come will be taught of in school...our children and grandchildren. All too often we learn of momentous events in history and think we will never be there to witness something so memorable. And now we are a part of history.
Today, Barack Obama will be the first black man to be inaugurated President of the United States of America. Millions sit watching in anticipation. Millions, even, fear for the his life...dreary pictures of one President Kennedy's death and a small boy's salute to his father come back to haunt us. For, all to often, hate and fanaticism mar joyful celebration. And so, on this day and throughout Barack Obama's office as our commander-in-chief, regardless of our political beliefs, may our prayers be with our president. May the Lord protect and empower him to work good and not evil, peace and not strife. For this is our calling as Christians and as citizens, to support our leader, to pray for him.

May God bless this day and the years to follow.
