Well, I've got a lot going on at the moment. I worked at Rose Cottage today (...dishes...:-P), and I'm scheduled for tomorrow too. I'm really, really glad for the hours, and it looks like Ashley (my manager) is going to try to schedule my five days a week! That's great news for me, because I really need the hours. Maybe I can also train for serving...
I'm in the process of applying for college, which has gone a little differently than I expected. I found one college I'm very interested in but was unable to find any others that could measure up, and so now I'm just applying to that one (with CSU as a backup)! It makes me slightly uncomfortable, because I know if I'm not accepted that will be a big drawback, but it's all I can do for now. I guess if I wasn't accepted at Hillsdale (the one I like), I'll probably be accepted anyhow at CSU and I can go there my freshman year, doing research from there. But anyhow, we'll see....
I'm really very interested in taking ballet classes at the Rankin, and it looks like it may work out. The only question now is whether I can actually pay for it right now, but I'm not extremely worried about that. And then the other thing is that classes are on Wednesdays and it looks like that's also the day my manager can use me the most :-P. Errggg. I'll talk it over with my mom and figure something out, I hope.
And then I have a ton of little things to get done and I have no idea how I'll actually get them done. Ok, ok, in theory I know how I should get them done, but practically it's always a lot harder to apply theory. But I have to get it all done, so it's gotta happen somehow...
Ah, I'm listening to "What's Forever For" by Billy Gilma, and I'm am absolutely loving it!! Great song.
Ok, well, I have to get ready to go now (going to a game night at Shannon's house!), so I'll be back later. And for anyone who wanted to read my feedback from my time at Champfleuri, it's still here--just under this one. I just couldn't resist updating anymore, so...
And I still love comments, so leave them! :-) Ok, until later; I must away....

Seems like I'm not the only one who hopes to cross the continent for collegiate curricular cravings. (If more words began with the letter Q, I would continue my alliteration--however, since such is not the case, I will move onward).

Don't EVER assume that you'll be "accepted to [fill-in-the-blank] anyhow". When applying for college, it is imperative that you strive your hardest towards the college(s) of your choice. More importantly, don't expect it to be easy to get in (yeah, it will be kinda scary, but you'll live).

Though I can't fill in (or is it "fill out"? I can never remember...) your applications for you, I can say this: be sure you have your best scores/grades lined up, and if they ask you to tell a bit about yourself, be sure you relate any hobbies/skills that will truly add to university life (having double-jointed hands didn't count when I applied to Auburn--though my career through Boy Scouts and my eventual achievement of the Eagle Scout rank did).

Once you submit it on the computer or drop it in the mailbox, all you can do is pray that you achieve success.
Depending on the college in question, it may be a matter of weeks or months before they reply with your letter of failure or acceptance.

A general rule to apply here is this: when the college(s) of your choice get around to sending you mail in response to your application(s), be very afraid when opening the envelope. You should be in for quite a shock, either way (I know I was).

Yes, true. The reason I said I'd "probably be accepted [to CSU] anyhow" was that Columbus State University's median SAT score is well below mine and I'm pretty sure it's not that selective. I'd be pretty suprised if I wasn't accepted there. But I guess my point was that I would have preferred to have several other colleges to apply to as backups, as I know one should never assume acceptance. Unfortunately, I find it pointless to apply to some college all the way across the continent when you aren't particularly excited about going there, so I'd rather be without much backup than be accepted into a university I don't want to attend.
But don't worry, I am filling out the application carefully, and I spent quite a while on the first essay, which I only just now finished. I want to look as good as honestly possible, because I really want to be accepted to Hillsdale.
Thanks for the heads-up, though!
